Carla Fisher-Schmitt of Clay, New York is accused of stealing more than $400,000 from a Cicero dental practice where she was director of operations, prosecutors said.

Carla Fisher-Schmitt, 44, is charged with felony grand larceny, accused of stealing money from Cicero Dental Associates from January 2021 until Oct. 16, 2023.

Fisher-Schmitt is accused of thefts in a variety of ways: unauthorized bank transfers and purchases, bank withdrawals, credit card withdrawals and receiving a higher wage than she earned, prosecutors said.

State police began investigating in December. She was arrested this month and her case is headed for a grand jury.

Fisher-Schmitt remains free without bail as her case progresses. She faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
