Carol Strope, 55, of Chesterfield, Missouri (MO), was sentenced to five months in prison and five months of home confinement for embezzling $193,000 from the dental office where she worked as an office manager. She was also ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to the practice and to file corrected tax returns reflecting the income she had concealed from authorities.
Strope pleaded guilty to one felony count each of tax evasion, mail fraud, and credit card fraud. Her embezzlement went undetected for an extended period, during which she consistently understated her income on federal tax filings.
