Claudia Ventura, 40, a former office manager at a Beverly Hills dental office, was sentenced to 180 days in county jail after pleading no contest to two felony counts of insurance fraud. Ventura was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and serve five years of formal probation, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Her co-defendant, Tom Kalili, 59, who owned and operated Beverly Hills Medical Suites dental practice, pleaded no contest to one felony count each of insurance fraud and failure to file an income tax return. Kalili was sentenced to one year in county jail and five years of probation, and was ordered to pay approximately $786,000 in restitution to the affected insurance companies. The case arose from a multi-year joint investigation by state insurance regulators and tax enforcement agencies.
