Debra Valentino, of Chicago, Illinois, was indicted by a Cook County grand jury on charges that she fraudulently collected $6,760 in state unemployment benefits while simultaneously employed at an Arlington Heights nursing agency. According to the Illinois Attorney General's office, Valentino had applied for unemployment benefits after being charged with embezzling money from a dental office where she had previously worked — a charge on which she had since been convicted. Valentino collected unemployment checks between November and May despite actively earning wages throughout that same period.
