Denise Wilson, the office manager and close personal friend of Dr. Stephen Grote at his Oldsmar, Florida dental practice, was accused of embezzling more than $123,000 over approximately two and a half years, according to Pinellas County sheriff's officials. Dr. Grote discovered the fraud only when a visit to an ATM returned an "insufficient funds" message — his first indication that anything was wrong with the practice's accounts. Wilson had managed the office for 12 years and was described by Dr. Grote as his closest friend.
