Georgia L. Brazier, a former office manager at Bennett Butler & Associates dental practice on Bacon Avenue in Williamsburg, Virginia, was sentenced to four years in prison for embezzling more than $225,000 from her employer between December 1997 and September 2002. Commonwealth's Attorney Mike McGinty noted that the scheme effectively doubled Brazier's salary during that period. Beyond the direct financial loss, the embezzlement reduced profit-sharing benefits and bonuses for other employees at the practice.
