Jennifer Priddy, 30, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, a former bookkeeper for Dr. Douglas L. Baumgardner’s dental practice, was indicted by a LaRue County grand jury on additional charges after initially being accused of taking more than $17,000 from the practice. The escalation from initial charges to a grand jury indictment on further counts reflects the pattern in which closer investigation of dental embezzlement frequently reveals a larger scope of theft than first apparent.
