Kathryn Eilers — Anamosa Dental Associates, Anamosa, Iowa

Kathryn Eilers, a former employee at Anamosa Dental Associates in Anamosa, Iowa, is facing two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card (over $1,500/under $10,000) after she allegedly stole patient health savings account and debit card information to make personal purchases, including GLP-1 weight loss drugs and items from online retailer Temu.

The first incident came to light on March 22, 2026, when a patient reported unauthorized purchases on their health savings account card. The victim's account showed four separate purchases of medications online totaling approximately $2,200. According to the criminal complaint, Eilers admitted to obtaining the patient's financial information while employed at Anamosa Dental Associates. She subsequently handed over unused medications that had been purchased with the stolen HSA card and notified her employer of what she had done. She was fired as a result.

A second incident emerged on June 10, 2026, when another patient reported suspicious charges from the websites Temu and Trimrx appearing on her debit card bill. The victim stated she had never made purchases on those websites. According to the criminal complaint, the charges dated back to February 24, 2026, and carried Eilers' name as the cardholder along with her home address — evidence that Eilers had been using the victim's card as her own. The total unauthorized charges on the second victim's card exceeded $1,800. Eilers again admitted to obtaining the debit card information during her employment at Anamosa Dental Associates, and also admitted that she was going through a mental crisis at the time she made the purchases.

Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the county attorney's office could file additional charges. The two confirmed incidents total approximately $4,000 in losses across two patients.
