Two Chicago women were indicted on identity theft charges by a Lake County grand jury following an investigation into a scheme in which they allegedly used information obtained during a dental office visit. Kaya Washington, 28, and Beverly Henry, 40, were each charged with two counts of identity theft, one count of unlawful possession of a credit card, and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card, according to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office.
The investigation was conducted by the Deerfield Police Department and included a subpoena of Facebook records to establish the identity of one of the suspects, according to Detective Brad Tokarz. The case originated on March 28 when a Deerfield resident reported that her personal and financial information had been misappropriated during a dental visit. Washington posted $10,000 bond; Henry remained at large at the time of the indictment.
