Margaret Lawson Martin, of Wirtz, Virginia, was sentenced in Franklin County Circuit Court to 31 years in prison for embezzlement and fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs while employed by a Martinsville dentist — with all but two years of the sentence suspended. In addition to the active prison term, Martin was placed on supervised probation for three years and ordered to repay approximately $60,000 to her former employer.
