Tina Marie Sawicki of Adrian, Michigan appeared in Lenawee County Circuit Court and offered a tearful apology after being convicted of embezzling from a local dental practice during the approximately two years she served as office manager. Expressions of remorse after conviction do not undo the financial harm caused to the practice — nor do they reduce the importance of having financial controls in place before theft occurs.
