As a result of the work of Prosperident's Amber Weber-Gonzales, Kimberly Sousa of Rhode Island was arrested this week and charged with multiple counts of embezzlement. She was released on bail and will be tried for the crime later this year.
Amber's investigation reached back into the previous ownership of the practice and was the largest embezzlement she uncovered in her distinguished career at Prosperident. Interestingly, the case started as an engagement to help the practice owner implement controls (our Owner Proactive Strategies product). In the course of that work, Amber discovered some concerning embezzlement patterns and recommended to our client that an investigation be performed.
