Electronic Funds Transfers - Not Recommended! |
At Prosperident, we never fear challenging the "conventional wisdom" when it doesn't make sense.
For many years, having third-party payors like insurance companies directly deposit their payments into a practice's bank account was felt to be a safe and efficient way to get paid, and it was even touted as a means to lessen the risk of embezzlement.
While we once felt that way, we no longer believe that electronic funds deposits are either the safest or most efficient way to get paid. You can read our reasons for this bold statement HERE.

The View from the CEO's Chair
|

We have been performing embezzlement investigations for over three decades. We started doing this work before practices were computerized. I'll confess that I don't miss poring over dusty "pegboard" daysheets and ledger cards.
As time passed, we increasingly got calls from people who didn't feel the need for an investigation, but wanted to tap into our knowledge of how embezzlement happened, and the systems failures that enabled it, to get ahead of the problem and actively decrease their embezzlement risk.
In 2016, we took a major step forward and began offering proactive services to clients. It started small, but I am pleased to say that our flagship product in this area, known as Owner Proactive Strategies, will probably overtake investigations as our most in-demand product by 2025.
Why? Because just like in a patient's mouth, prevention is less expensive and less invasive than remediation. One of our clients, Dr. David Hughes, expressed it beautifully HERE.
