Oxnard CA woman arrested, accused of $87,000 embezzlement

On Wednesday, October 3, 2025, an officer from the Oxnard Police Department responded to Rose Dental Group, located at 2731 South Rose Avenue, regarding concerns that an employee had allegedly been embezzling funds from the practice. Rose Dental Group had initiated an internal investigation and identified Stephanie Gonzales, a 35-year-old Oxnard Resident, as the primary suspect. An initial police report was taken, and the case was forwarded to the Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit (PCU) Financial Fraud Investigator for further review.

Working in close collaboration with the practice’s owner, the investigator examined extensive financial records and determined that approximately $87,000 had been misappropriated over the course of the past year.

On December 4, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit arrested Stephanie Gonzales on suspicion of felony grand theft from an employer.

The Oxnard Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit is committed to reducing fraud related crimes in the City of Oxnard through the strict enforcement of laws.

Editor's note:

We noted a Stephanie M Gonzalez of Oxnard (with a 1990 birth date.  Ms. Gonzales has an extensive criminal record spanning several pages.  Convictions include numerous motor vehicle infractions, larceny, leaving the scene of an accident, domestic battery, and many others.  With 70 million Americans having criminal records, pre-employment screening is pretty important.
